NSW: Convicted lawyers will face expulsion under national laws
SYDNEY, Feb 9 AAP - NSW lawyers convicted of a serious offence will face automatic
expulsion when national laws governing the profession are signed next month.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported that the National Model Laws, to be signed at the
Standing Committee of Attorneys-Generals meeting, will make it harder for lawyers to argue
that misconduct away from the office should not affect their right to practise.
