Charles Carter
The Massachusetts Child Welfare Institute (MCWI), a partnership among Salem State College's School of Social Work, the Department of Social Services (DSS) and the University of Massachusetts Medical School, recently appointed Newton resident Dr. Charles Carter as its director.
Dr. Carter has spent much of his career working with youth and families of color in the Boston area, most specifically with those students in the Boston Public School system who have been identified as having severe emotional disturbances.
